My passion for real estate began at age nine, when my mother told me about an investor who had purchased an entire neighborhood of homes during a market downturn. Living in one of his rental properties, I was fascinated by the idea that real estate could create both opportunity and financial freedom. That childhood inspiration planted a seed that would later grow into Sky River Properties.

In 2019, while searching for a piece of land where my family could camp, hunt, and potentially place our tiny home, I discovered an unexpected opportunity. The process of finding and purchasing land revealed a gap in the market – many aspiring homesteaders and land buyers struggled to find properties that matched their dreams, much less navigate the complex purchasing process.

My first land purchase, a one-acre lake lot, became a learning experience in creative financing and property potential. By offering owner financing, I discovered I could help others achieve their land ownership dreams while building a sustainable business. This revelation aligned perfectly with my desire to build a family-friendly business that would allow me to stay home with my two little boys while making a meaningful impact in others' lives.

During my six years as a loan officer, I witnessed countless capable buyers being denied traditional financing simply because they didn't fit into conventional lending boxes. Self-employed individuals and those with non-traditional incomes were especially impacted. Add to that the challenge of securing loans for raw land, and I saw a clear need in the market. Drawing from this experience, I began building a company that would do more than just sell land - we would provide creative financing solutions for those left behind by traditional lending. Sky River Properties emerged as a solution for aspiring homesteaders, preppers, and land buyers who needed not just property, but guidance and support in achieving their dreams.
